For greater effectiveness, you can heat the apple cider vinegar. This is because the heat allows the vinegar’s odor to escape.

You will need a jar and a piece of paper rolled up in a funnel, 12 cl of apple cider vinegar, a few drops of detergent at most and you can choose whether or not to add a piece of ripe fruit.

After heating the apple cider vinegar, you can pour it into the jar, adding the drops of detergent. The latter will reduce the tension on the surface of the vinegar.

Next, insert the funnel into the jar, with a hole in the bottom for the flies to go in. Once inside, they will not be able to get out and will drown.

If they don’t drown, you can put the jar in the freezer for  20 minutes.

The fruit trap, on the other hand, is made with these ingredients: cling film, a jar, ripe fruit, toothpicks and soapy water.

Place the pieces of fruit in the jar and close it with cling film, pricked with a toothpick.

Place it in strategic points of the house, so that the flies will enter through the holes without being able to get out. Finally, you will have to immerse the jar full of flies in a bowl of hot soapy water for 10 minutes.

Two other very effective methods Red wine is another ingredient that attracts flies. A little bit of leftover wine in the bottle will be enough for the flies to gather there. It will be a death trap for them, as they will begin to drown in the remaining wine.

Alternatively, you can put the wine in a container and cover the jar with perforated cling film.

The last trap is old and is the one that grandmothers used. You will need 50 cl of milk,  100 grams  of brown sugar and  50 grams  of ground black pepper.

Pour the pepper, milk and sugar into a saucepan and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Then, pour the mixture into empty plates and place them around the house.

Attracted by the mixture, the flies will be trapped and drown in the solution. To make it even more effective, you can add a drop or two of detergent to prevent the flies from freeing themselves from the surface.

Now all you have to do is choose one of these tricks, which you can do and use against flies that are hanging around your house, and you will be able to see how effective they are.
