Recipe for a year’s worth of laundry: To prepare the liquid detergent needed for a year’s worth of laundry, you will need the following ingredients:
- 60 grams of Marseille soap flakes (average cost: around 0.40 cents)
- 15 grams of sodium percarbonate (average cost: about 0.15 cents)
- 30 grams of baking soda (average cost: about 0.10 cents)
- A few drops of essential oil (average cost: about 0.05 cents)
- 1 liter of hot water
- 1 liter of cold water
Preparation steps:
- Heat a liter of water and add the Marseille soap flakes. Mix until completely dissolved.
- Then add the sodium percarbonate and baking soda. Mix again.
- Remove from heat and use a blender to obtain a smooth mixture.
- Let the mixture cool for a full day. It will thicken, which is normal.
- After this resting period, add a liter of cold water and mix again until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous consistency.
- Transfer the detergent into previously cleaned and dried containers, such as plastic bottles or glass jars.
