Start by getting your oven ready at 375°F, or 190°C. Apply the tablespoon of olive oil to a baking dish that is 9×13 inches.
2. Combine the shredded hot dog buns, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and black pepper in a large basin.
Third, on the bottom of the baking dish that you just prepared, sprinkle half of the bun mixture.
4. Distribute the chopped onion and sliced hot dogs evenly over the bottom of the sandwich.
5. After layering the hot dogs, pour the chili with beans on top and spread it out so it covers the dogs.
Sixth, top the chili with shredded cheese, measuring one cup.
The seventh step is to stack the remaining bun mixture over the cheese, followed by the last cup of cheese.
8. To prevent the casserole from drying out during baking, gently pour one cup of water over it all.
9. Place aluminum foil over the dish and bake for half an hour.
10. Take the foil off and continue baking for another 10 minutes, or until the surface is slightly browned and bubbling.
11–Set the dish by letting it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Tips and Variations
Make this dish your own by adding whatever you like! To make it hotter, top the chili with additional spicy sauce or chopped jalapenos. Think about using beef chili or slicing some precooked sausage if you want it meatier. If you’re trying to avoid eating meat, you may use vegetarian chili and swap out the hot dogs for something else. To cut through the heat, try topping with sour cream before the last layer of cheese. The creamy texture will complement the cheese well.
