1. Prepare the Brownie Base:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. Let it cool slightly.
Add the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the melted butter. Stir until combined.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder together into the wet ingredients. Mix until smooth.
Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
2. Prepare the Strawberry Layer:
While the brownies are cooling, chop the strawberries finely and sprinkle them with sugar.
Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to release their juices. You can also mash them lightly with a fork to make a slightly thicker layer.
3. Make the Chocolate Ganache:
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, heavy cream, and butter (if using).
Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
4. Assemble the Brownies:
Once the brownies are fully cooled, spread the mashed or chopped strawberries evenly over the top.
Pour the warm chocolate ganache over the strawberry layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Allow the ganache to set for a few minutes before slicing.
Serving:
Cut the brownies into squares, and enjoy the decadent combination of fudgy brownies, fresh strawberries, and creamy chocolate ganache!
Optional Tips:
You can drizzle extra chocolate ganache on top for extra decoration.
For an added touch, top each brownie with a whole chocolate-covered strawberry after serving!
