How to Clean Inside Car Windows

  • Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe away any dust or loose debris from the windows. This step prevents scratching the glass during cleaning.
Step 4: Apply the Cleaner
  • Spray a small amount of glass cleaner or your DIY solution directly onto the microfiber cloth (not the window) to avoid overspray on the dashboard or seats.
  • For stubborn spots or greasy residue, spray the cleaner directly on the window and let it sit for a few seconds before wiping.
Step 5: Wipe the Window
  • Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the window in a vertical motion, followed by horizontal strokes to ensure complete coverage.
  • Pay extra attention to corners and edges where grime tends to build up.
Step 6: Buff to a Shine
  • Use a second clean and dry microfiber cloth to buff the window until it’s streak-free and clear.
  • If you’re using a squeegee, run it from top to bottom to remove any remaining moisture, wiping the blade clean between passes.
Step 7: Repeat for All Windows
  • Follow the same process for all inside windows, including the windshield and rear window.
  • Don’t forget to clean small windows, such as quarter windows or side mirrors, if applicable.
Additional Tips
  • Avoid Ammonia-Based Cleaners: These can damage tinted windows and leave a residue.
  • Clean Regularly: Clean your car windows every few weeks to maintain clarity and reduce buildup.
  • Use Distilled Water: If you’re in a hard water area, distilled water prevents mineral spots.
  • Check for Streaks: Inspect your windows in natural light to ensure they are completely clear.
