Why the left hand and not the right?
It is believed that the left hand is the one that “receives” , that is to say, it is the most exposed to the surrounding negative energies . Tying a red thread to this wrist will create a protective barrier against these harmful influences.
However, some people prefer to wear it on the right hand, but for a different reason: to attract prosperity, success and well- being . Unlike the protection offered by the left hand, the right hand symbolizes action and openness to new positive opportunities.
The meaning of the color red
But why is this bracelet always red ? This color is not chosen at random. Red is associated with powerful symbols such as energy, life force and spiritual protection. According to beliefs, it also helps to ward off dark thoughts, strengthen self-confidence and dispel bad intentions from others.
In the Kabbalah tradition, the red thread is sometimes called the “Jerusalem thread” because it is customary to tie it after being blessed in holy places, especially in Jerusalem. It was once common to tie a red thread on the wrist of newborns to protect them from evil spirits and negative influences from the moment they were born.
