The importance of research to better understand
Advances in genomics and medical imaging offer new perspectives to identify these insidious tumors. Cancers of unknown primary, for example, represent 3 to 5% of cases. These cancers, which manifest only by metastases without an identifiable primary tumor, underline the importance of continued medical research.
These efforts not only allow us to better understand these silent cancers, but also to improve screening tools, thus offering better chances of survival to patients.
Silent cancers represent a major challenge for modern medicine. However, thanks to vigilance, scientific progress, and increased awareness, it is possible to detect them earlier, and thus save lives.
