Advice
- Be careful of objects when you are near an open toilet. It is always best to avoid these kinds of problems.
- Turn off the toilet water faucets to prevent the object from being accidentally flushed down the pipes or further down the pipes.
- If you have an open cut or blisters on your hands, wear gloves or other protective gear.
- If the object fell out while you were using the toilet, it doesn’t mean you’re gone forever. Urine and feces are unpleasant, but they won’t kill you. Just be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after removing your object.
- If you have lost an item in a public bathroom and don’t have the courage to take it, call the attendant.
Warnings
- If an object has fallen into the toilet or has been treated with potentially toxic disinfectants, avoid placing it in or near your mouth.
- When handling items that have come into contact with human waste, there is always a risk of developing an infection with salmonella, E. coli bacteria, hepatitis virus, and many other pathogens. Wash your hands as often as possible before, during, and after the disinfection process.
