1) Replace old radiators

Replacing your old, particularly energy-intensive radiators naturally requires a certain investment. And, we admit, not everyone can afford it. But if you have the opportunity, know that replacing your old electric radiators with newer models will be a long-term winner. If you opt for more energy-efficient appliances, you can  reduce your heating costs by nearly 80%  !

When choosing a low-energy radiator, we recommend  electric inertial radiators , which are the most economical due to their functionality. But for more information, don’t hesitate to visit professional sites like carrera.fr to make an informed decision.

Grandma’s tip: To further optimize your energy consumption, you should also consider changing your heating system (e.g. to a pellet stove) and carrying out thermal insulation work in your home to prevent heat loss.

2) Turn down the heating

As we are accustomed to comfort, we tend to turn up the heating very high to develop in a warm and therefore pleasant environment. In reality, however, a temperature of 20, 21 or 22 degrees is in no way necessary. In a living room like the living room,  the ideal temperature is actually 19 °C , or even lower for the less keen among us. And in the bedroom, 17 °C can be sufficient, except for small children who need a minimum temperature of 19 °C.

Does it seem too cold? And yet,  if you turn down the heating by just 1°C , you can save around 7% on your electricity bill. Not to mention the environmental benefits. Maybe it’s worth putting on a slightly warmer sweater, right?
