The coroner’s office has been assigned to conduct a thorough investigation and determine the exact cause of death.
This period was particularly difficult for Montreal, which received more than 72 centimetres of snow from February 13 to 16.
This is not the only death recorded during this period, as other similar tragedies have been reported, including the deaths of a man in his 70s and a man in his 40s, both of whom suffered cardiac arrests while clearing snow.
This series of tragedies serves as a reminder of the importance of taking extra precautions during the winter months, particularly with regard to snow removal and operating vehicles in extreme weather conditions.
Authorities continue to advise caution and offer winter safety reminders to all residents in the region.
