And even if you don’t have a green thumb, these plants are almost indestructible!
Here is the list of these 9 anti-pollution plants that clean the air:
1. Chrysanthemums
NASA has discovered that these plants are incredible air purifiers.
Place chrysanthemums in your home to remove ammonia, benzene, formaldehyde and xylene from the air in your home.
It is a plant that is easy to find at florists and, what is more, it is not expensive.
2. The spider plant
The spider plant is also one of the so-called “depolluting” plants. It eliminates formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, toluene, benzene and xylene present in the air.
The spider plant is incredibly easy to grow, even for beginners. It is very resilient even without regular maintenance. Perfect if you are just starting out in gardening.
Give it as much light as possible, but not direct sunlight. If the temperature rises above 20°C, you will do it good by misting its leaves. Water it as soon as the soil dries out.
3. Dracaena
There are over 40 different types of dracaena, so you have a choice of which plant will suit you best.
The advantage of this green plant is that it eliminates the following pollutants: benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene from the air.
The only downside is that dracaena is toxic to cats and dogs. So if you have pets, it’s best to avoid it!
Maintenance is very easy here, with watering every week and no need to prune it.
4. The ficus
Ficus are one of my favorites because they can grow a lot depending on the pot you use. They have great air purifying properties.
Ficus removes benzene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde from indoor air.
Maintenance is just as simple as that of the previous plants, since it only needs to be watered once a week and its leaves misted to keep it happy.
