This method is based on a simple principle: using electrical conduction to capture and amplify the signal. To do this, you just need to gather a few easy-to-find elements:
- A button cell (type CR2032 or similar).
- A copper wire of about 30 cm.
- A small piece of aluminum foil or a metal surface.
- A connector to connect everything to your television.
Simply wrap one end of the wire around one pole of the battery, then attach the other end to the aluminum foil. This homemade antenna then plugs into the antenna input of the television. By placing it near a window or up high, you can receive more channels for free.
Which solution to choose?
If you simply want to improve the reception of classic channels, the button cell trick is a quick and economical option. On the other hand, if you are looking for wider access to streaming content, an Android TV box or an HDMI key remains the best solution to make an old television compatible with IPTV.
In any case, there is no need to throw away your old TV: with a little ingenuity, it can still offer you many hours of entertainment, without an additional subscription!
