How to Use a Syringe to Clean Your Hob
What You’ll Need:
A used syringe (preferably a large one)
A cleaning solution (you can use a store-bought cleaner, or mix your own with baking soda and vinegar for a natural solution)
A microfiber cloth or sponge
Warm water
A small bowl (for mixing cleaning solution)
Step-by-Step Guide:
Prepare the Cleaning Solution Start by preparing your cleaning solution. If you’re using a store-bought cleaner, make sure it’s safe for use on your hob. Alternatively, mix equal parts of white vinegar and water, or combine baking soda and a little bit of water to form a paste.
Fill the Syringe with Cleaning Solution Take the syringe and fill it with the cleaning solution you’ve prepared. If you’re using a larger syringe, you can fill it a little more, but always be careful not to overfill it. You want just enough liquid to target the dirty spots, but not so much that it spills everywhere.
Target Hard-to-Reach Areas Use the syringe to apply the cleaning solution directly to the hard-to-reach areas of the hob. These might include the corners around the burners, between the stove’s metal parts, and under the knobs. The narrow tip of the syringe makes it perfect for squirting cleaning solution into these tiny spaces.
Let It Sit Allow the cleaning solution to sit for a few minutes, especially if it’s a grease or food stain. This gives the cleaner time to break down the grime and make it easier to wipe away. For stubborn stains, let it sit a bit longer, but don’t let it dry out.
Scrub the Area After allowing the cleaning solution to sit, take a microfiber cloth or sponge and gently scrub the areas where you applied the cleaner. Focus on the corners, edges, and burner grates. The syringe will have loosened up the dirt, making it easier to wipe away.
Wipe Clean After scrubbing, wipe down the hob with a clean, damp cloth to remove any excess cleaning solution and dirt. For a final touch, you can use a dry cloth to buff the hob to a shine.
Clean the Syringe Once you’ve finished, make sure to properly clean and disinfect the syringe, especially if you plan to use it for future cleaning. Wash it with hot water and mild soap, and rinse it thoroughly to ensure it’s clean.
