During an intervention in the European Parliament, an MEP denounced the lack of transparent communication on the Covid-19 vaccination. According to him, the health agencies, which claimed that the vaccines were safe and effective, had failed in their duty to tell the truth. However, the reports submitted by the Member States to the European Medicines Agency reveal a very different reality, with thousands of deaths and serious side effects reported.

Thousands of deaths and serious adverse effects recorded
Data from the European Medicines Agency indicate that an alarming number of deaths have been reported in connection with the Covid-19 vaccination. In addition, there are many cases of severe physical injuries. Despite these worrying figures, no support or compensation measures have been put in place for the victims. This lack of care raises serious questions about the responsibility of health authorities and governments in managing these side effects.

Disinformation: a concept used arbitrarily?
The MEP also highlighted the ambiguity surrounding the concept of disinformation. At a previous Health Committee meeting, he had asked a speaker about the exact definition of the term. He was told that there is no official definition of disinformation. This lack of a clear framework means that any dissenting discourse can potentially be labelled as “disinformation” by those in power. This poses a threat to fundamental freedoms and civil rights in Europe, as it would allow information to be labelled as false, not on the basis of its veracity, but on the basis of its conformity with the dominant narrative.

A WHO treaty that could challenge state sovereignty
Another concern raised during this intervention concerns the World Health Organisation (WHO) and its role in managing health crises. According to its own constitution, responsibility for public health lies with national governments. However, the WHO is currently working on a treaty on pandemics, which would give it additional powers, particularly in terms of logistics and coordination of global health responses.
