Directions:
- In a large pot, combine chicken broth, carrots, potatoes, and onion powder. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add broccoli, cover, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a large saucepan. Whisk in flour and cook for about a minute until golden brown.
- Gradually whisk in milk and cook for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce and stir until melted. Season with salt and garlic pepper.
- Pour the cheese sauce into the large pot with the vegetables. Stir until well combined.
- Adjust consistency with more milk if desired. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm, topped with bacon pieces.
