These crispy, golden egg rolls are filled with a savory mix of vegetables and protein, wrapped in a crunchy shell. Perfect as an appetizer or snack!

 

Ingredients:

(Makes about 12 egg rolls)

Filling:

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (or coleslaw mix)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • ½ cup bean sprouts (optional)
  • ½ cup diced mushrooms
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or hoisin sauce)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ lb ground pork, chicken, or shrimp (optional for meat version)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)

Wrapping & Frying:

  • 12 egg roll wrappers (spring roll wrappers)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil (for deep-frying or shallow frying)
