These crispy, golden egg rolls are filled with a savory mix of vegetables and protein, wrapped in a crunchy shell. Perfect as an appetizer or snack!
Ingredients:
(Makes about 12 egg rolls)
Filling:
- 2 cups shredded cabbage (or coleslaw mix)
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- ½ cup bean sprouts (optional)
- ½ cup diced mushrooms
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or hoisin sauce)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ lb ground pork, chicken, or shrimp (optional for meat version)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
Wrapping & Frying:
- 12 egg roll wrappers (spring roll wrappers)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for sealing)
- Vegetable oil (for deep-frying or shallow frying)
