Now that we have our ingredients ready, let’s get started with making the peach cobbler:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches and 1/2 cup of sugar. Stir gently to coat the peaches evenly. Set aside for 15 minutes to allow the peaches to release their juices.
3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
4. Gradually add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined.
5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Spread the peach mixture evenly over the batter.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
