The oven is one of the most used appliances in the kitchen, but it can often happen to get oil or fats out during cooking that, if not removed promptly, burn and leave annoying residues in the oven.
However, it is not necessary to use aggressive chemicals to clean the oven. Instead, you can use Marseille soap, a natural and delicate solution to get rid of burnt oil and residues in the oven. Here is a guide on how to do it.
1. The necessary tools:
Before you start, make sure you have everything you need for this:
The Soap of Marseille
Hot water
Sponge or cloth
Protective gloves
Scraper for plastic oven or spatula
A basin
2. Prepare the cleaning mixture:
First of all, wear protective latex gloves.
Mix the Marseille soap with hot water in a basin. Use about 1-2 tablespoons of soap for each liter of water.
Marseille soap is a mild but effective cleanser, ideal for this cleaning operation.
3. Apply the mixture on the furnace surfaces:
Apply the Marseille soap mixture and water on the surfaces of the oven where there are burnt oil residues. Make sure you cover all affected areas well.
4. Let the mixture act:
Let the Marseille soap mixture act on the dirty surfaces of the oven for at least 30-60 minutes. This will allow the soap to soften the burnt residue, making them easier to remove.
5. Clean with a spatula or scraper:
After the soap has taken effect, use an oven scraper or plastic spatula to scrape away softened residues.
Make sure you work gently so as not to scratch the surfaces of the oven.
6. Rinse with clean water:
Use a cloth or sponge soaked in clean water to rinse the surfaces of the oven and remove any remaining soap and dirt residues.
You will need to apply various passes to thoroughly clean.
