Introduction
Anyone who owns white clothes knows how difficult it can be to remove yellow sweat stains from shirts, T-shirts, or blouses. These stains are often the result of sweat coming into contact with antiperspirant residue or simply excessive perspiration. Sometimes, traditional cleaning products don’t deliver the desired results, and sweat stains remain on our clothes. Fortunately, there’s a simple home remedy to get rid of these stubborn marks. You only need one ingredient that will easily solve this problem. We’ll reveal how to easily restore white clothes to their original shine!
Ingredients:
Optional: Water (1 cup) – Water helps dissolve the baking soda and makes it easier to apply the mixture to stains.
Instead of water, you can use lemon juice (1 tablespoon) – Lemon has bleaching properties and its acidity helps fight yellow stains while freshening clothes. Directions:
To make the cleaning paste:
In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of water to form a paste. You can add a little more water if the paste is too dry, but it should be thick enough to stick to the stains easily. Alternatively, for best results, use lemon juice instead of water.
Applying the paste to stains:
Apply the prepared paste directly to the yellow sweat stains. Focus on the areas that need cleaning the most, such as the underarms of your shirt, blouse, or t-shirt.
Rub and wait:
Gently rub the paste into the stain with your fingers or a soft toothbrush (if you want better penetration). Leave the mixture on the fabric for about 30 minutes to allow the baking soda to work on the stain and dissolve it.
Rinse and wash:
Once the time is up, rinse the garment in cold water, then machine wash it according to the label instructions. The baking soda will help remove not only the stain but also the odor, and your white clothes will regain their original freshness.
