  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Caramelized Onions & Mushrooms:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups mushrooms (shiitake, cremini, or button), sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

For the Noodles & Sauce:

  • 200g (7 oz) egg noodles or rice noodles
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth (or water)
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili paste (optional, for heat)

Garnish:

  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for sprinkling
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (optional)
