2- Weakness or numbness on one side of the body
Have you ever experienced a sudden loss of strength in an arm or leg? Unusual numbness on one side of the face? These signs may indicate a problem with blood flow to the brain. During a stroke, certain areas of the brain are no longer receiving oxygen, leading to motor and sensory disturbances.
Simple test:
Try raising both arms in front of you. If one of them falls involuntarily or if you have difficulty moving it, call 15 immediately.
3- Difficulty speaking or understanding
Imagine suddenly finding yourself unable to find your words. Or having trouble understanding a simple sentence. These language disorders, called aphasia, are common during a stroke. They occur because certain areas of the brain responsible for speech and comprehension are affected.
A simple sign to spot:
Ask the person to repeat a sentence like “It’s a nice day today.” If they have difficulty repeating it or speak incoherently, contact a doctor immediately.
