Dry soap: for effortless glide
Soap is an effective lubricant that helps the slider regain its fluidity.
How to do it?
- Take a piece of dry soap (avoid liquid soap, which could leave a sticky residue).
- Lightly rub the soap on the zipper teeth.
- Gently slide the slider to distribute the soap evenly.
This tip is ideal for plastic or metal closures that are difficult to slide.
Candle wax: an express solution
Like soap, candle wax leaves a thin lubricating layer, making it easier to move the cursor.
How to do it?
- Take a white or colorless candle.
- Gently rub the wax onto the zipper teeth.
- Move the slider back and forth several times to distribute the wax.
Caution: Avoid colored candles, which could leave marks on light-colored fabrics!
Penetrating oil spray: the solution for extreme cases
If your zipper is completely stuck, a penetrating spray (like WD-40) can be an effective solution.
How to do it?
- Spray a small amount of penetrating oil spray onto a cotton swab.
- Apply it only to the zipper teeth (avoid contact with the fabric).
- Gently slide the slider to distribute the product evenly.
Caution: Always test on an inconspicuous area before applying the product, to avoid possible staining.
