- Be sure to protect your hands from heat. With this in mind, you may want to wear rubber gloves or oven mitts even if you’re using tongs.

Set the item aside to dry. Remove it from the pan and shake it lightly to remove excess water. Afterward, wrap it in a clean, dry cloth and expose it to the air. Once the remaining moisture has evaporated, your item should be as good as new.
