I came home and saw all my cups were upside down – when I found out why, I immediately called the police

“But that’s not fair, officer,” I said. “I had no idea who was in my house and who was messing with my stuff. I even took a baseball bat with me, because I was sure there was someone in the house.”

“We know, ma’am,” the officer said. “If you wish, you can file a complaint. Please check your deposit, but I’m sure there’s a clause in it that says it’s not allowed.”

I nodded.
